Hackers were able to remotely install surveillance software on phones and other devices using a major vulnerability in messaging app WhatsApp, it has been confirmed.

WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook, said the attack targeted a ''select number'' of users, and was orchestrated by ''an advanced cyber actor''.

well they can maybe run stuff as a part of whatsapp itself. then there's instant apps which I'm really really not a fan of. * +

yeah.... instant apps... my phone is always just updating that. it annoys me and I don't even know WTF they are. all my apps need to be manualy updated by me. yet instant apps just does as it pleases. *
