Hiya guys....I'm in the market for a new laptop and will appreciate some input from the gurus??? What would your choice be between an i3,quad core,1.9 ghz,6gb of ram and dedicated graphics OR i5 quad core,1.7 ghz,4gb ram and also dedicated graphics? Both are from Lenovo and both marked G5070? I'm not a serious gamer and will only be using for general computing like light games, watching DVD,listening to music, etc.? * +

Both come with a 1TB hard drive as well? Just confused as to why the i3's clock speed is faster than the i5's and it comes with more RAM???? * +

Check their review on notebookcheck.net
I'd always pick one with better gpu. And max ram upgradable. * +

i3 quad core? confuse.gif. Even the i5's on laptops are dual cores now.

i3 is the low end, i5 mid range and i7 the top stuff from Intel. A while back Intel moved from performance to energy saving in laptop CPU's.

It's not only about clock speeds when it comes to performance. Do both clock speeds include, what Intel calls, 'Turbo' speeds too?

tldr, the i5 is better. * +

The Dell is much more robust, and I suspect it can do what u need done...that would be my choice, as we are not discussing price, but something that can fill your needs... * +

Thanx for the feedback gents. I did check the reviews and even though I'm not a total noob when it comes to tech, tbh they just confused me more??? Was hoping you guys could give it a once over and tell me what you think??? @newt,what is tldr? I wish I took photos of the processor detail, from the properties screen? ALL of the ones I looked at were quad core? What is the difference, always thought 4 processors meant more computing power? Is dual core better than? * +
