drive, then boot from the disc/thumbdrive and it will install and flash a new bios code for you. A COMPUTER Must have a BIOS/CMOS programmed and working before it will kick into life, its the brains of the pc itself being installed, it tells the machine what it is and what should be running etc etc. Windows is just an interface software allowing the user and machine to comunicate instructions to and fro * +

yes most businesses dont want to spend the money, if it aint broke why fix it scenario, at least untill they get hacked lol. I know Sainsburys supermarket were still using windows 2000 in their uk supermarkets in the offices as recently as 2009, and it wouldnt surprise me if they still are. However believe it or not iam expected to work with windows 95 at work! Iam convinced we must be the only business in the uk using it.

Have their accountants got s**t for brains? Upgrading business equipment is a tax write off, unless of course they are not paying taxes and there is nothing more to write off, in that case their accountants are geniuses * +

On XP you must download a program so you can boot from USB. The main problem with that is you will most likely download a Trojan Horse that will install a rootkit. * +
