I use an Acer aspire.. roughly 4 years old. Always been a tough laptop. Been with virgin NTL about 4 years too. Used a simple netgear which never once let everyone down. Last year I had superhub installed. Virgin boasts this is fast.. ok yes it's fast but since installation I've had problems. First was my laptop, I lose connection and have to reconnect. Sometimes it wont, sometimes it does but it always disconnects over Wi-Fi but works perfect wired. I don't lose connection with my phone, ps3 or 360. Is this virgins s**tty service? I cannot change providers unfortunately. Should I plug the netgear back in or feed a wired connection to my laptop? Note... this option is unappealing as I already have enough wires * +

Wires are good! Had same problem, sorted seemly itself. So either was router reset, which i didnt do, maybe flatmates, or its network. Call them is what u should do. * +

Could be a number of things. Most prob the wireless type eg n/g etc. Sign into the router and and there will be an option to change it. Try that first and if no good install iNSSIDER run it to see what wireless channels are being used near to you and alter the router channel to an unused one. * +

I like using my ALFA Networks USB WiFi Adapter. It is compatible with 802.11 b/g/n and has better performance than the built in WiFi that my laptop has. *
