Actually that's not very accurate. The data might still be on the drive, but a virus will not be able to be executed or even seen by a new install of an OS, unless you go out of your way to recover it. * +

you must be really proud of your self i guess,
shame, you got no clue what you are talking about !
most(very, VERY rare exception actually !) modern motherboard wont let unauthorised data to be written into BIOS,
eventhough you can flash/update BIOS from windows(for example) !
i wonder how noobish do you look now ? * +

@mok214
BTW, FYI, BIOS is NOT Flash Memory !
BIOS is EEPROM Memory !
Which is, we could say similar, but NOT the same !
Yea, i know, that must hurt hard,
I mean getting a small lesson from ''the n00b of the year''

''The good news is that many antivirus companies
and Microsoft offer free malicious tool removal kits.''
If formatting the hard drive will not help one bit,
then how exactly any kind of malicious tool removal kits will help ?
I guess thats just third shock...
You must admit, I've just made ''Hat-trick'',
not bad for ''the n00b of the year'' huh (roflmao) * +
