1. install and run malwarebytes(delete if anything found)
2. install and run ccleaner, also its registry fix
3. defrag disk

if this wont help, then test disk, test ram * +

malwarebytes found only one unwanted entry and hd only 5 percent fragmented?? also,when pc boots up, I get welcome screen,win 7, then it switches to blank white screen,and hangs there for 15 to 20 seconds,before slowly loading desktop background and then the desktop folders??? * +

I've had her for over 2 years now,might it be time to re apply the thermal paste,or should I first seek app to check cpu temps......???? * +

replace thermal paste for sure,
then run RAM test(i trust in GoldMemory only, but i,ve bought licence cos i need it every day)
most likely you will use MEMtest * +

(sxy2) replace your hard disk with new one coz this thing happens when hard disk's ages are up . *
