i am now testing pcxfirefox 24 unofficial recompile and it seams to be as fast as its claimed to be. the only problem, in any firefox whatsoever, 'firefox has prevented this page from automatically redirecting'.. notice. now, i like that firefox does not allow automatic redirection and i would not like to change it, i would just like to know how to get rid of that useless message popping up on top of my screen. i don't need an indication when auto refresh has been blocked, i just want it blocked * +

it isn't a big problem but maybe there is some about:config settings that can fix that. * +

start firefox with command line -ProfileManager and create a new fresh profile for test. if it works correctly then it must have been messed up by something you installed, extension, a plugin... * +

in detail. create a shortcut to firefox on your desktop or copy an existing one. right click the shortcut, choose properties. under the shortcut tab, in target text field, click in the text field. press end on your keyboard to move the text input cursor far to the right. add a space, then type in -ProfileManager ,now apply the changes and run the shortcut. you will be given a window with a list of profiles installed. now create a new profile. select the new profile and click start firefox. * +

if everything works alright with a new profile then something on the old one is causing you problems. ... another, easier way, you can also go to help menu and click 'restart with addons disabled' doh and see if it solves the problem. if it does, some of your addons are making a problem for you. if nothing works, you can try reinstalling firefox clean. i think there is a portable option in the installer and i recommend it when installing as it makes managing your profile much easier * +

a portable installation will make firefox store all its data only in its own directory and it will only be used by that one firefox, not interfering with any other version you may have or run. and you could move it everywhere on the hard drive or even a different computer without braking anything or losing your settings. * +
