i got an old second hand laptop a dell inspiron 9000 or something like that... Anyways, the windows key sticker underneath is for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, n it's currently running Windows 7 (a bit slow for my liking...) Anyone know where I can find an install disk/iso? *

Dont bother xp will lose support in 2014. Upgrade your ram . *

As a temporary solution, Defragment your HDD. (GoTo - Control Panel - System and Security - Administrative tools-). Uninstall unnecessary application (if any running in background that eats up resources)
But it's always good to upgrade RAM. And additionally you can replace your HDD with SSHD if possible. SSHD's application performance is similar/ or near close to SSD, and it will cost less than adding an internal SSD for laptop. *
