i bought this laptop at a car tboot every time i put it on microsoft send message saying this is not a genuine copy of windows. If i buy win7 premium and put it intp the cd drawer will it load up and overwrite the fake copy ? Ty * +

Does the laptop have a sticker on it anywhere saying which specific version of Windows it had installed when it was new? You see you might already have a license for Windows 7 written into the BIOS as SLIC. * +

Also the copy isn't fake, it just isn't/wasn't activated or was activated using a cr*ppy old loader. * +

it says windows home proffessional with product key i tried putting in the key but microsoft said its not valid thats the windows sticker under the laptop cud it b out of date ? Thanks for your help * +

That key wont work with Ultimate. You will have a SLIC table written in your BIOS for Win 7, all versions. Obviously you only have a license to use Home professional. You need to install the OEM product key and the OEM certificate. Or use what I suggested in the PM I sent you, it will just install the product key and certificate and nothing else. * +

I'm experiencing similar problems with my laptop. mine came with the cr*ppy windows starter, I upgraded to ultimate and now my desktop is blank and it now displays your windows is not genuine. I need help please!! * +

mine has a similiar prob too an I install a win xp witch is a trail version after doing dat my wifi dosent show up any more an now its saying 12 days leave I guess its ganna shut down after dat *
