apart from the annoying things that pop up around the edge of the screen while your moving the mouse of course. but as far as I understand there are also 3rd party programs to get rid of that too. windows 8.1 preview actually replaces the start button but it only takes you to metro lol. the same will be true for the full version of 8.1 later this year. but both these versions will allow you to boot straight to desktop according to microsoft anyway. * +

the uk magazine PC advisor is advising consumers not to download the preview because it will have to be completely removed when you get around to installing the full version, which isnt all that far off, although other sources claim you can directly update from 8.1 preview to the full 8.1, so your guess is as good as mine! I really dont know. but if you havnt downloaded the preview allready, it obviously makes sense to wait for the full version instead. * +

just to add to the user base subject, the industry has seen a dramatic reduction in the sales of new computers worldwide, this they say is because consumers have been put off because they know windows 8 comes as part and parcel of the package lol. this dont 'alf remind me of windows vista, sorry microsoft lol but I just had to get that bit in! *
