Alvar89 is hinting at the security risk associated with xp because support ends next year. It is far less secure than the newer operating systems and probably the most easy to hack into out of any other 0.S in existance, regardless if its from microsoft or not. And it will gradually get worse after the end of support date. Thats the only real drawback with it in my opinion. But to be honest its had a great run having been launched in 2001. * +

And must surely be the most successful operating system of all time. Some linux distros are worth exploring, a lot more stuff works with linux these days and some distros are faster than windows 7, so certainly dont rule them out. There is a linux version out there suitable for every computer regardless of its specs. *
