youtube-dl is a small command-line program to download videos from YouTube.com and a few more sites. It requires the Python interpreter (2.6, 2.7, or 3.3+), and it is not platform specific. It should work in your Unix box, in Windows or in Mac OS X. * +

Check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YouTube for the format code list. The one used above (-f 34) is: FLV 360p H.264 Main 0.5 AAC 128Kbps. My most used format is -f 35 which is FLV 480p H.264 Main 0.8-1 AAC 128Kbps. * +

Here's an example of a dl'd vid http://i.imgur.com/2gbHiUI.jpg (and yes, i know that SMPlayer supports direct watching of youtube videos, but i like collecting a bunch of vids to a mix folder then watch or listen to them locally/offline) * +
