You will need a new PSU anyway. Only thing you can do is get a PSU that you know works and test it. * +

what newt said. whether you need a new mobo or not, you will be getting a new power supply. a lot of power supplies are designed to take the bullet and protect the hardware so you might be lucky. * +

sometimes a fried part kills a psu so to test the mobo get a older psu to test it. look at the board if there are blown capacitors or some leaking. i have seen a psu take a hdd with it and everything else was fine . once a fried mobo killed a psu and fried hdd took a psu once so its a lottery. * +

it all depends on the power supply, but as previously stated, we know for a fact that the power supply is dead so you will definitely be replacing it. the only way you wouldnt is if you were either getting a new pc or giving up owning one (which is sacrilege) * +

if the pw desides to buy a new psu id recommend to do some research on what to get and how much wattage you will need in the future. i got a corsair tx750 v2 its a 80plus bronze psu with good reviews etc but one thing i missed from the reviews is that its fan is stupid loud so i would advice to keep away from that psu if you are into silent computers. the ax and hx series dont have the problem so look those up. * +
