My friend has purchased the win 8 n he has installed in his desktop now he is about to upgrade his pc so will he be able to install the same key into other pc. * +

If its a retail copy of w8 then yes easily,if its a oem copy than u will have to phone Microsoft to give u a new key * +

If he has purchased an upgrade version of Win 8, the key for the other OS will be unusable and MS will not help you. Did you know you can upgrade a copy of Win 7 that has been activated by a loader? ;) * +

If you have any further questions you need to specify which OS you will update from and what version of Windows is on that computer, such as Win 7 retail, or Win 7 OEM (preinstalled with a laptop, for example) etc... * +
