As others have said, RMA it. You won't even need a receipt for a new WD product. They base the warranty on when it was manufactured unless you provide a receipt from the day of purchase, which will start the warranty from that day. The RMA service is quite good. * +

I talk to the guys from warranty and they can replace it or give my money back but i don't want to lose all the data !!! I tried to make it work on a laptop and when i connect it to usb an initialization window ask me to chouse between MBR or GPT and in bouth cases ,after ok another window sais the disk is not ready. * +

if disk aint seen in BIOS, you alone wont get data back, it waste of time... just RMA it and move on... * +
