can i reinstall win7 to try and restore some messed up dvd drive issues and perhaps other similar issues i couldnt manually fix. i dont want to format the drive just try my luck if that would fix my Win7 * +

btw i replace my NON-STOP SPINNING N OPENING cdrom drive with a dvd writer. this drive also pops open, takes long to read dvd/cd, wont play most original movies and only sum pirated movies * +

Backup anything u don't want to lose then use the w7 disk to repair not reinstall * +

If its a very cheap DVD writer then u get what u pay for,not all DVD writers can read and write in all formats and most have various speeds,have u updated the DVD writer drivers? * +

Reinstalling Windows will do nothing for your failing dvd drive. *
