...well, when asked like that...AMD lol dual cores refers to a 2 core cpu, i3 is an Intel dual core cpu, AMD is a company 
but to TRY and answer your question, i3 is a great dual core cpu but for a budget high end cpu NOTHING beats AMD FX series at its price point, specifically AMD FX-8320. * +

I take it the FX-8320 price is above R2000. is there any earlier FX cpu's that are in the R1000 range. Hex-core or Quad-core? Socket AM3. I see the FX-8320 is socket AM3 plus. * +
