No it was just a windows password and i have now thanks to you guys managed to access most of the file but still having probs with some of my pics and word documents...seems i have to take ownership of each file so taking an age.... * +

can't you highlight a lot of files/folders and right click on one of them and take ownership that way, worth a try if you haven't tried that already * +

No that didn't work hun did try it but it never gave me the option...It's all done now had day off so just sat here all day drinking tea and doing it so thanks everyone for you're help...big hugs x x xx Nik *
