I'm running a 32bit version of this OS with SP1 on a 40GB HDD on my toshiba A300 thought it would be slow etc but runs great and all the update drivers loaded and working fine. Would never use win-7 HP now this is the one to have to get and upgrade to. Shame can't use the 64bit as haven't got 4gig ram only 3gig ram * +

you will not get any benefit using a 64bit os with under 4gb ram but it will work if your cpu supports it. when you buy a w7 os you can get one with both 32 and 64bit versions so you can change between them as you like. when you upgrade your ram or the whole pc in the future you can use the 64bit version untill then use a 32bit one as the 64bit is more ram hungry. * +

and w7 ultimate is a waste for a normal pc user if you want some benefits better than the home premium look for windows 7 professional. * +

of coarse you can use 64.bit with 3 gigs of ram. there are also benefits in that your apps wont be limited to using 2 gigs of ram. games in particular may benefit slightly from extra ram as some are large address aware. this means more textures can be loaded saving on loading. * +
