About 3 and a half weeks later and I have finally ordered an Asus ROG Xonar Phoebus soundcard and some Audio-Technica ATH M50 - Headphones. Just under 300 quid so I'm expecting good things or I will be disappoint. * +

WOW! I have just got my soundcard and headphones. Totally skint now but dam this sounds good. I have never heard flies in BF3 before, until today. The sound is incredible! Everything is loud, crisp and clear. * +

The amp on the soundcard is great too, you can really tell the difference. without an amp you can be listening to a part of a song with just bass, and maybe drums, and it will sound quite loud, but then when the rest of the instruments kick in, it lowers the bass level as power is needed to drive the higher frequency sounds. But with an amp that doesn't happen. *
