I have Virgin media 60mbps and on all my devices i can get around this speed apart from my ps3 which only shows about 5mbps download speed. Why is this and how do i fix this, i use wireless and can only use wireless. * +

It could be that your router is choking your PS3 speeds. Refer to your routers manual or manufactures .pdf which can easily be downloaded from their website. * +

wireless, it depends on the version used some have a better bandwidth, only way to get uber speed is via a direct connection (wire), wifi is coded then sent, then decoded then used. its always going to be slower than a fibre optic or copper wire * +

agreed but wired is impossible in my case, secondly i dont understand how every other device gets full speed and then my ps3 gets this :S must be some way to fix it * +

Is that Megabits or MegaBytes you're talking about? I'm pretty sure the PS3 displays speeds in MB, not Mb. Also, could it be that the server you're downloading from is not uploading at high speeds. Game updates from PSN can be slow. * +
