maybe the hdds bricked! if you can put the hdd in a pre 2005 bio's laptop or pc it ignores drive lock and can be unlocked with parted magic linx distro. * +

why would I steal a lapptop, besides this topic is very old and already solced the problem by using a linux live cd, taking out the hd connecting it into usb via an adapter and colyng some data that could be rescued to a usb drive replace the hd and ready to rock and roll * +
