Hi everyone how can I make my own RJ 45 to USB converter. I have a usb cable and a RJ 45 cable but someone told me I can't just wire them together and anyway I don't know how , which color to connect where. Can someone please help? * +

Anything you could home rig up would probably cause electrical damage to your motherboard because RJ-45 is not rated for power use like USB is. What are you trying to do anyway? * +

you would need a micro controller board. You could write some firmware in 'C' to make rj45 to USB converter. * +

you could maybe look at using the chipkit by digilent. These devices are low cost. The software development enviroment is free and they have librarys of 'C' code and examples to help get projects running quickly. * +
