A friend just connected to the internet and shortly afterward, most of the icons on his laptop turned into shortcuts. window media centre keeps popping up and we he cannot access any file. please what could be wrong? * +

Thanks all. The OS is Win7 ultimate, Mok. The system behaves looney now! If u stop the unwanted programs, the all reappear again! Oetinger, U may be right! Can an AV do anything now? * +

if u have a healthy PC, download AVG rescue CD and copy it 2a USB Stick, and then run it on the very infected PC. I my self have burned AVG Rescue CD 4me.it works very fine/gr8. * +
