just buy a 775 quad core m8... you can get 1 for less than 100 as long as its 2.4 or faster it will be fine. if you want you can always o.c.it. * +

the best part is even if you get a used 1 its unlikley to have been abused as most overclockers would have gotten ridd of there core 2 quads long ago. so you can be pretty sure even a refurbished 1 will work like new. * +

Ivy bridge over Sandy i'm on SandyBridge i7 n it would not be worth me upgrading to Ivy but from a Pentium Dual Core to an i5 Ivy would be a huge Difference I'd get 8Gb Ram to go with it as DDR3 Ram is pretty cheap now n make sure u get a decent Mobo n a Decent Cooler so u can Overclock, I've Oc'd my i7 2600k by 1Ghz.. Your HD7870 should then perform better than my HD6970 I'm sure *
