Hi there mates, Im having problems with my laptop runnin on Vista.. It was working fine until several hours ago when I updated my Avast antivirus, updated my mtn modem pc suite and downloaded some car pics.. Now it hangs on the Desktop after start up and doesnt respond period.. Wat cud b da cause of this? Is there a way I can get the laptop back to when it was working properly, before the updates? if its getting to the desktop and freezing on ya put it into safe mode and do a system restore f8 on startup for safe mode * +

to be honest youd be better off upgrading to windows 7 * +

as alias999 say's do a system restore type system restore into your start bar! * +

sounds like lock down, it can happen when programs conflict like if you have 2 security programs installed, i have had this before when i installed c cleaner, i would start in safe mode which means holding f5 or it may be f2 or f8 lol cant remember and then removing any recently installed program that may be at fault and then restarting normally * +
