there is away, i had the same problem some years ago, you have to take ownership of the drive and files, but I cant remember now how I did it, re-connect it as a slave drive, when done go to 'my computer' look for the drive in the listing, right click on the drive, from the box select 'properties' from the new box select 'security' from here you have to change the permissions to everything thats listed, this is the bit i cant remember, but if im right, you have you set all in the lists to * +
