Hi guys,Plse help me recover my hdd space; I once installed ubuntu 10.04 on my hp notebook. now I need to recover that 20Gb space that was automatically partitioned for. now when I go to disk management I can see my space but the system reckon I cannot access it -probably bcos linux uses is using different file system (EXT2) compared to Windows one (NTFS).Im using Vista Business 32-bit o/system.Plse tell me if its possible to recover it and how. ''the system reckon I cannot access it''. What exactly does it say when you try to access it? Can you right click on it and select format? What about right clicking on the other partition (the one beside it) and selecting 'extend volume'? * +

use the program that you use to create that space and revert that 20GB of space... * +

Use EASEUS Partition Master and watch the magic happen (assuming u know what to do). * +

Select that linux (ext 4 or ext5) and using manage option click on shrink volume it will allow u to shrink it if u have less than 4 primary partition and hdd is not a dynamic 1. * +

if you want an easy to use boot cd with software to help,try to download and burn parted magic.proceed to boot onto cd and change the file system for that partition.after hitting apply then carry on to deleting the partition and expanding the windows one.hope this helps. * +

disk management? so your intention is to format that space? if you only want to get rid of it,without recovering files,i think you vista disk can help you. i have an xp install disk and it allows me to simply delete partitions. i think the same functionality is built in vista disk. so boot off disk and select the space you have problems with,i think it should detect it and it definently should be able to deal with it. then delete the selected partition and exit the setup. afterwards,you can use * +

you can use the already installed windows to manage that empty space. that is the quickest way i'd say. *
