active 3d you need rechargeable glasses which uses shutter tech and cost a lot! and you need to buy that seperately,and it strains your eyes,passive 3d you can uses normal 3d glasses that u can get at the cinema,with the lg t.v you get 9pairs with the t.v so the whole family and friends can watch with * +

panasonic and others are working on 3d tvs that dont require 3d glasses which I believe is a significant step forward. it maybe worth waiting. remember its allready been done with small devices like the nintendo 3ds. * +

i hav a Samsung D6400 46inch 3D led tv it came with 2pairs of glasses. I own a PS3 320gb with FIFA12, Transformers Revenge of the fallen and GT5. I have read many reviews before purchasing the tv. Samsung beats Any LG anytime excluding the Infinia wich holds its own. Yet Active 3D glasses are the most effective form of 3D viewing and gaming than Passive hance all the manufactures are moving back to Active. It converts normal 2D to 3D extreemly well as opposed to Passive. I have done my research * +
