A few days ago, I removed my PS3 from its usual spot from a gaming session. It worked fine there the entire duration. When I got home, I put it back on its usual spot but hotplugged the hdmi cable. I got a huge spark on the ps3 end, the end which I hotplugged. The one in the TV is fine. The power went out, the TV etc was fine though. When I plug it into my TV though, I dont get any screen on my TV. Any ideas? * +

Sounds like you killed the ps3. Have you tried a different cable? Or holding down the power button twice till the ps3 beeps twice? * +

Weid thing, I just tried my hdmi cable in my dvd compliant hdmi port, and got nothing... Could it be the cable and not the port itself? * +

Yeah it could be. How do you know the HDMI ports on the TV are still working? * +

I tried the sparked cable on a different tv and dvd player. The cable is slightly melted on the right, right where the metal of the port and the cable connected. * +
