any system that originally shipped with windows vista like your laptop is capable of running windows 7. if you slung in another 1gb of ram giving 2gb it would make a big difference to win 7 performance though and ram is cheap. nothing else needs to be changed on your system. your graphics arent exactly top dog of course but you could allways turn off windows aero which can help. other than that I dont see much of a problem on this laptop. * +

I would advice against installing vista unless you are unable to obtain windows 7 for any reason. vista is an appauling operating system and I would recommend xp over it any day. those gemstone laptops are very fast on xp. although win 7 is still based on the vista codec its had a major overhaul and as a result is a big improvement. its basically what vista should have been. * +
