i want to reinstall windows xp in my system,but my dvd rom is alil bit faulty and replacement is what i cant afford for now..so please i want to create a bootable xp flash drive with windows xp service pack 3 i downloaded fran microsoft website...please if you know any specific software dat can handle de creation of a bootable flashdrive please share it with me here and links to it is also very welcomed thanks * +

yes your right, but even if you do just burn a new disk it can get scratched again, i always now use a bootable flashdrive, lasts longer than a disk * +

pmpl system crashes, wont boot up,disk scratched, how ya going to burn a new one to fix system..... flashdrive dont get scratched * +

and if you read the post corectly, its his dvd drive thats faulty, so he cant burn a disk anyway * +

you create the bootable flash drive from an ISO not a disk so no dvd drive needed. * +

rom is not just a disk, its anything that is classed as read only memory, a virtual dvd drive is rom, some microchips are rom etc etc ect * +
