it kicks in on its own, have my i5 2500k set to turbo to 4.5, when playing bf3 it goes to 3.4, haven't seen it really go much higher then that lol * +

My laptop is an old gen i5 2.4ghz with turbo to 2.66ghz n most program's n games it will get to 2.66ghz.. I have an i7 2600k running @ 4.4ghz constant, turbo only effects 1 core * +

when you say turbo only affects 1 core do you mean only one core running at 4.4? * +

chr1s84 11.01.12 - 04:22am
No all my cores run @ 4.4Ghz coz i set them @ that speed in the bios, so your i5 has a turbo set of 4.5Ghz but only 1 core will hit 4.5Ghz the rest will hit 3.3Ghx your processor speed unless u state in bios all cores 4.5Ghz and to do that u would have to have a good cooler and set volts manually * +
