when you install this on your system and start it up, you get a window(virtual drive) with xp on it, the thing that gets me is the xp system says there is no anti-virus installed and there are windows updates required,is an anti-virus needed to be installed on it or will the one on your win7 system be enough.. what about the xp updates do you really need them * +

You must treat it as an entirely seperate operating system which means you must do all the xp win updates and install anti virus. Thats what a local computer dealer told me. If your not going online with xp mode then it doesnt matter so much with the anti virus. * +

Iam told though that xp mode is only free on win 7 ultimate and pro editions and not starter or premuim editions. * +

Download a program called VirtualBox install, get an xp installation disc and use that, can virtualise Linux and other Os 2 * +

And it's 100 percent free, get xp disc from a torrent n happy days u can get all the Linux cd's from the site, Ubuntu is nice and so in Linux mint * +
