Ive done something silly. I installed my old copy of coreldraw ver. 8 on my windows 7 laptop and it worked but kept quitting so i tried compatibiiity settings and made it fail to work at all. So i uninstalled it and i noticed internet explorer dosent work properley now. It wont open links in new tabs or windows. Is there any way to fix this please? And thankyou in advance. * +

the easiest way around obscure problems in windows is reinstallation. it will save you a lot of time. if it can't open any links, maybe the http protocol isn't registered correctly. as for new tabs i honestly don't know scence i use opera * +

maybe you can try the trick with corel draw again only this time monitor it using process monitor of sysinternals. it should show you what application is trying to do,the key it tries to access, delete, modify, files etc * +

I think when i installed corel draw it messed something up bcos its really old and meant for windows 98/xp only. This system restore is taking AGES yawn * +

one of the first thing i do when installing windows is disable and delete system restore off the hard drive. it doesn't solve the problem,it just patches it and it is using large databases on my hard drive to do so. not very helpfull * +
