post ur laptop brand and model , wht u did at last while u heard the sound at last ? Are u using vlc mediapalyer , did u played songs r watched movies with volume more than default 100 in vlc ? If so its speaker issue 100 im sure , check with headphone ,connect ur headphone and check weather u hearing sound in it if its possible speaker out , if not driver issue...
