the drive reads but can't copy stuff on of formet it have that clicking sound when formet,isent ther a way I can remove some sectors or make a part of the hdd not readble..its a 300gb * +

Its ur Hdd meida problem in some days its gonna dead before that backup ur datas which brand its ? Visit manufacturare website and check for warranty status ..... * +

naff off, hds last years now, the main cause of the noise is because the data is widely scattered and the read arm is having to jump wildly to read the disk, first run a full defrag then go to my computer, right click on the drive, select properties, then select tools, then select error checking, tick both boxes and run it, then and only then if the problem still exists the hd is at fault * +

lol @ lookrite , From last 8 years of field experiance im facing issues in HDD if there's a clciking noise its sure ur HDD Problem for seagate im getting replacement of new HDD in 3 days * +
