dual core 2.8 ghz (overclocked) 4 gig 667 and when copying large files from sata hd to external usb hds i am only limited to 1mbs. my mate has the same processor but 1gigof ram, but can copy up to 40 mbs. why is that? we both runing win 7 * +

maybe our USB disk is simply slower... which i doubt... bigger possibility is that your USB disk doesnt get enough power, have you tried to connect to rear USB instead to front ? * +

I realised that win 7 is using the usb as usb1.1 and I know that my mobo is usb 2 capable, the only usb2 drivers form the mobo is for win xp and does not work on win 7, is there another way to make my usb ports to work as usb 2? * +

win7 shouldnt need usb drivers nor xp, check ur bios settings * +
