My grandads hard drive has given up the ghost and windows 3.1 has gone with it lol. He wont use any other operating system. Ive allready had windows 3.1 from ebay but the floppies are damaged so you can see my problem. Anyone know if you can download it anywhere?? * +

I assume I also need dos cos windows 3.1 wont install without it am I right? The computer does have a cd rom drive so If I found a win 3.1 download it could be burnt to a cdr? And dos on floppies. It also has a floppy drive. * +

Ive got an old spare hard drive that does work and its compatible with his old compaq. Any help would be greatly appreciated cos I havnt had any luck myself finding win 3.1 online. * +

i had seen that windows 3.1 on TPB, there you should go and search for windows 2003 then arrange them by Size, you will find all win versions. its there * +

if they were kept cool and dry then theres no reason why they wont work... 3.5 floppys slievs only degrade in sunlight. the disk themselves will be perfectly usable... if stored incorecctly the disks magnetic surface will carbonize and you will see black dust on the disk door. *
