hi ,I have a core 2 quad q8300 2.5ghz with a gigabyte x38-ds4 motherboard and 8gig transcend and mushkin ram and a palit hd4850 sonic gcard I want to make this pc faster and I'm not sure how to go about overclocking,any help will be Appreciated,thanks * +

Q8300 is a very good processor and Gigabytes is known for its oc capabilities... So I believe you can get a lot more than 2.5GHz with ur system by overclocking if u have proper cooling system.... Google with the keyword ''How to overclock'' and read the tutorials of oc forums.... * +

8300 isn;t a great overclocker but the X38 chipset is well suited for overclocking. Maybe you could get 3.4ghz from a Q8300 which is alright, but its not as good as even the older Conroe quads like the Q6600 * +
