run registry cleanups and get a decent defrag util like priforms defraggler. defrag and clean b4 you tweak anything else. * +

ccleaner is a good place to start when wanting to clean up. remember though that xp uses prefetch to help keep the o.s running smoothly so dont clean the prefetch data... also make sure your only running what you need to in startup. (ccleaner) * +

dissable startup entrys b4 you delete them on the next reboot. this little clean up should get you back to what is considdered a normal boot tim of 45 seconds. * +
