Hi I need help after some time now my hardrive suddenly say i must format it before use is there a way to fix it without losing my files i think it were caused by a power failure *

you will need to partition then format the drive. most drives are sold with a basic filestructure already in place meaning. 1s partition they can be fast formatted and will work straight away... other older /ide drives had to be full formatted b4 you could write to them as they were sold as true raw format... todays sata drives often come preformatted to windows standar. but because the partitions *

are deleted they look raw... your drive sounds like the partition table has been corrupted. you may be able to get away with fixmbr command or use some recovery software... if not then you could crate a new partition and use recovery software to try and get some files back. *

thanx il see what i can do luckily it is formated in ntfs andonly contain files *
