I need a free software to throttle my modems speed as my carrier is testing 3G wen its fast that wenever speeds exceed 4mbps it disconets,..any software for windows 7 to throttle speeds? thanks. * +

Not the software , the firmware . It is actually on a chip in the router . You usually access the settings by typing a certain IP number into your web browser address bar . If you lost the disk with the help file , go to the manufacturers website and ... * +

I have never seen a router with options to limit the download speed. However I have only used routers that have been suplied from my ISP. The pw isn't using a router though, so all the advice so far is pointless. * +

Go to netgear's website and download a manual for one of their routers if you want to disprove me . And if the pw does not have a router , get one . A firmware firewall is handy .

Just saying, the routers given out by ISPs usually have only basic functions. How is the pw meant to use a router with a wireless 3G USB modem. * +
