made a similar post before, monitor and gfx dont seem to be all that compatible but work on resolution that is not the reccommended one. Anyways, the screen jumps halfway to the right so I can only see the left of the picture and the left of the screen is black, every time I reboot it goes back to this and I have to adjust settings? Any idea why it's doing that? * +

sounds just like a pc losing settings cos the cmos battery is dead. * +

motherboard is less than a year old so doubt its the battery but i'l give that a try, it keeps date settings though so I doubt it, and yes first thing i done was update drivers. I had this problem before when doing a fresh install but never seen it lose settings? It's something to do with auto adjust on monitor but it doesn't switch off. * +

It won't be the battery, shouldn't be. Driver level settings aren't stored like that! Something like this is often drive conflict * +

Thought not spartan, did seem a little odd but I'm annoyed so you can imagine I'l try whatever. Not done anything new to it, no new hardware or software *
