my lappy screen doesn't switch on anymore, the lappy itself goes on when I press the power button but the screen stays off, it only switches on after like 9 or 10 tries, any idea what could be the problem? the screen or the cable from the mainboard? any help would be appreciated as I wanna weigh all options before resorting to handing it over to a repair shop. * +

Well , it would help if you gave the brand and model name . Lappy just does not cut it .

I would've swore I only saw ' help ' as the topic title .Take it into a repair shop for an estimate . Then compare the estimate for a used laptop with the same capabilities . If the repair price is close to the used one , then get the used one . * +
