ping.exe. this program is using up all my leftover cpu processing. putting it simply when this program kicks in my cpu usage is at 100. im not sure what the cause of this program activating. this program is located in c:windows/system32. i want to get rid of this program since it slows down my pc and is a hindrance. deleting it is no use since it reappears. the time i noticed ping.exe popping up * +

was when i used microsoft security essentials to quarrantine or stop conhost.exe which carried out the same action as ping.exe. im not sure if ping is related to conhost but i think the extra info will be helpful to someone that knows. * +

ping.exe is part of the o/s so something is obviously looping an instruction and calling these executables wasting your cpu. don't delete ping.exe, try using process monitor from sysinternals to find the executable responsible for this behaviour, then post what you find here. if the antivirus finds nothing or you want to remove it manually. * +

Ping.exe is not a virus like said of edit.or is part of the os and it's the way to check if the pc is connected to another pc by typing in command line ping 192.168.0.2 the 1st pc is 192.168.0.1 so if 192.168.0.2 reply the pc is connected, or you can use ping.yahoo.com it's defend on you where use it. *
