Hey there mates. Im building a pc and Im going to be having music, movies and games.. I wanna aloocate 500gb to each.. Im just wondering, in terms of functionality, which one is better. Having 1 x 1.5 TB Hard drive (which I can split between music, movies and games) or having 3 x 500gb Hard drives? 1 for music, 1 for movies and 1 for games. I already intend on having a seperate Hard Drive for OS. * +

having 3x 500GB hard drives. it is lower probability all of them will fail * +

besides,if you have page file, you will reduce the overhead on the system drive if you put it on a separate drive,a separate partition on the other hand won't work that well. all in all 3x 500GB is the way to go the way i see it * +

i wouldnt bother with such an elaborate setup. het 2 500's and 2 1.5 tb raid and partition the 2 500's into 1tb raid with 2 500gig patitions. and use itfor your o.s and games the other 2x1.5tb drives can hold your other media... the raid config will give low end ssd speeds if you get fast 7200rpm or better hdds and the 1.5 tb drives can be green versions as they will be pretty much storage. *
