ey i was trying to talk from memory. not easy to explain but in the patterns u put down ur ideas - different patterns. they'll all be in pattern 1. pattern 2 to last will be empty, so the way i do it, i cut the patterns from pattern 1 and have 1 particular pattern on each pattern bar from 2 onwards. leaving pattern 1 with only 1 pattern. then its easier to just fill it in on the playlist. i'm using fl 10 though * +

basically,, a song is made up of diffrent patterns playing 2getha @ once, so u gotta make evry pattern 1 by 1, eg pattern 1, 2, 3, 4 ,then paste them on the playlist in an arrangement that suits u,, after ur done, export it in the format that u fancy * +
