simple. backup all your files and decent programs on a non system partition, format and reinstall windows. bsod is not a thing to mess with,it is unstabile system you are running now and there is a chance the problem may complicate as the time passes. make sure your system goes through standard shutdown procedure.alt+F4 then the U key is the fastest way on xp. then get a linux live rescue disk * +

linux live rescue disk and boot from it,save all your data on a non system partition or better USB drive or any other external storage that will keep your data reliable. don't boot from hard drive untill you've done a full format and reinstall a fresh new system. * +

The problem is something other than the router.....it can't cause BSOD. Do what edit.or tells you-its your best chance to fix the problem. One more thing though, scan your latest downloads and installs with an AV to be sure you haven't picked up something nasty. * +
