Hi guys,..when i want to install win7 by bootin the p.c wen the dvd is in da installation tray...the p.c skips the dvd drive instead jus starts up on xp..! i remember at one time i restored bios settings to default. culd it b da reason? * +

sorry above meant, wen the installation dvd is in the dvd drive tray. * +

Go into the BIOS and set the boot priority to DVD drive first and then second the HDD. Or you can usually access the boot menu by tapping a function key at startup, usually F8. * +

Thanks newt...managed to get to start-up and the primary start-up options had the cd-dvd option not available, until i disabled the hardisk n upon restart, the p.c culd not find os, then i logd in on bios startup and found the cd-dvd option avaible.thanks. * +

You can install windows 7 when pc is already running by installing windows 7 disk * +
